I was over twenty before I was introduced to the poems of Margaret Einarsdóttir, my grandmother´s sister. My mother and I have since sung several of her verses on the radio. My father often sang this tune. It is from Húnavatn county.

gaman er á vorin.
Á yndislegri óskastund
átti ég hingað sporin.

Loftið er svo létt og tært,
lind í gili streymir.
